TSA to Launch 1st Self-Service Security Option in January

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is set to introduce the first-ever self-service security option for eligible TSA PreCheck travellers, aiming to expedite the security process, reports Simple Flying.

Dr. John Fortune, Program Manager, emphasizes the efficiency boost achieved through passenger self-screening, likening it to self-ordering restaurant kiosks. The program explores technologies from three companies—Micro-X, Vanderlande Industries, and Voxel Radar—focused on enhancing security screening through self-service solutions.
