Following extensive restoration, Greece has reopened the 2,400-year-old Palace of Aigai, where Alexander the Great became King of Macedonia. The palace, once the largest building in classical Greece at 15,000 square meters, is formally known as the Royal Metropolis of the Macedonians, according to the Greek Cultural Ministry.
