Viking’s Newest Ocean Cruise Ship Named and Welcomed to the Fleet

Viking announced that its newest ocean ship, Viking Venus, was officially welcomed to the fleet on 17MAY with a celebration in the English Channel as it set sail on its inaugural cruise. As part of the event, the ship’s ceremonial godmother, British journalist and broadcaster Anne Diamond, offered a blessing of good fortune and safe sailing for the vessel. In addition to commemorating Viking Venus, the event was also an important milestone marking Viking’s return to service following 14 months of paused operations. On 22MAY, guests will embark the ship in Portsmouth for the first of five roundtrip cruises on the England’s Scenic Shores itinerary.
