Lindblad Expeditions to Explore Iceland Starting in JUL

Lindblad Expeditions The National Geographic Explorer
The National Geographic Explorer

Lindblad Expeditions will reactivate National Geographic Explorer for a series of Iceland voyages this summer, starting 07JUL 2021.

Plans call for the 148-passenger polar vessel to explore the country on two alternating itineraries, 'Wild Island Escape' and 'The Circumnavigation of Iceland.'

The Iceland season will begin on 07JUL with the six-day 'Wild Island Escape,' visiting the fjords and volcanic isles along the western coast. Rates begin at USD $5,180 per person, double occupancy, and include excursions, drinks and crew gratuities.

Departures of the 11-day 'A Circumnavigation of Iceland' begins on 11JUL and will take a trip around the country, including visits to Grimsey in the north, and the Westman islands in the south. Travelers will cruise into the Westfjords and spend time on the Arctic Circle spotting nesting seabirds, with hiking opportunities. Rates begin at USD $11,460 per person, double occupancy, including excursions, bar tab and crew gratuities.

Both trips will be accompanied by Lindblad naturalists, a National Geographic photographer, Lindblad-certified photo instructors and an undersea specialist.

Lindblad's ethnomusicologist, Jacob Edgar, has invited renowned Icelandic musicians to perform on select departures throughout the summer.

Travelers 16 and over will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for JUL voyages. On voyages starting in AUG, the vaccination mandate drops to 12 and older.
