Air Canada Posts Sweeping Expansion of Flights to Domestic, Int’l Destinations

Air Canada has resumed both domestic and international passenger flights to a growing number of  destinations that had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as restored flights to previously cancelled locations. 

As of 28JUN, the airline is expected to offer four flights per week out of Vancouver in the evening to Penticton, staying overnight, then flying out to Vancouver the following morning. Arrivals in Penticton are planned for Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday, with flights to Vancouver on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

In Kamloops, Air Canada will resume four flights per week to both Vancouver and Calgary on 28JUN and 27JUN respectively.

Those flights will become daily to both Vancouver and Calgary beginning in mid JUL with a further increase to three times a day to Vancouver and two times a day to Calgary on 03AUG.

On Canada’s East Coast, Air Canada is also resuming flights between Gander and Toronto, following the provincial government’s re-opening plan.Flights will resume 02JUL and will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Internationally, Air Canada has resumed many flights to sun destinations, after the airline voluntarily stopped flying to warmer regions in an effort to curb COVID-19 case numbers. 

Caribbean locations such as Barbados, Cuba, and also  European destinations such as Italy have all been resumed by the airline. 

Air Canada is expected to add more flights as the summer progresses, marking progress in a return to travel even as restrictions remain in place.
