5 Steps to Supporting LGBTQ+ Business Travellers

PhocusWire says that 95% of LGBTQ+ travellers have hidden their sexual orientation on a business trip to protect their safety, and only 9% of companies have travel policies and support systems in place for those travellers. It lists five steps for companies to support their LGBTQ+ travellers. The first is to consider pre-trip assessment, as attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community vary across the world. The second is preparation to ensure travellers are well informed ahead of time and aware of the laws that they will be subject to at their destination. The third is to prepare for communication during travel as to ensure travellers are mentally and physically well. Fourth is evaluating post-trip, to listen to traveller feedback to eventually refine further policy and trips. The final step is to support long-term inclusivity of LGBTQ+ travellers.
