Tauck Resuming Most Global Operations

Tauck had announced the restart of a number of tours and cruises in recent weeks, but now says it’s resuming all remaining 2021 itineraries in August and September.

Overall, the tour and cruise operator expects 80 per cent of its pre-pandemic operations to resume this year, with the rest planned for 2022.

Earlier this month, it had announced the restart of its cruises in the Galapagos Islands, its safaris in eastern and southern Africa and a few European tours and cruises. This latest announcement signifies the return of the bulk of operations.

Some of Tauck’s new additions in August include several itineraries in Italy (one of Tauck’s most popular destinations), land tours in Switzerland, the company’s popular “A Week in… Ireland” tour, and its exploration of Jordan and Egypt.

Tauck will also resume operations on the Rhine with its 25AUG departure of “The Romantic Rhine” river cruise. The balance of Tauck’s 2021 tours and cruises, including its other journeys on the Rhine, and the company’s popular river cruises on the Danube will begin operating in September.

“To date the world’s return to travel has gone very, very well, and we have great cause for optimism,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar. “However, some restrictions remain in place for destinations like the UK and Canada, and we know that as our industry recovers, there will be twists and turns along the way. We’re as prepared as possible, but we know that the best attitude is to expect the unexpected and to stay flexible.”
