Hilton Does Away With Daily Housekeeping for Most U.S. Hotels

Hilton has made daily housekeeping optional for most of its brands across the U.S., with luxury brands Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and LXR as the exceptions to the new policy. This change will be made effective this week, with daily housekeeping to only be performed upon request. Housekeeping services also will be done automatically on the fifth day of any extended stay at a U.S. hotel. According to a Hilton spokeswoman, Hilton properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa are "operating housekeeping as requested," and hotels in the Asia-Pacific region are still providing daily housekeeping. Hilton is one of the first major hospitality brands to make on-demand housekeeping a company-wide policy, despite this trend becoming common during the COVID-19 pandemic.
