On 08JUL, Hawaii eased its travel restrictions for fully vaccinated U.S. domestic tourists. That group will no longer require quarantine or take a pre-flight COVID-19 test. Unvaccinated tourists still have to either quarantine or provide a negative test 72-hours before flying to the country. According to officials, the number of tourists coming to Hawaii is approaching 2019 levels, and that has locals and businesses feeling the strain and tensions are rising as the state’s pre-pandemic problem with overtourism begins to return.
