Alaska Towns, Cruise Lines Ready for Launch of 2021 Summer Season

For the first time since fall 2019, large cruise lines are returning to Southeast Alaska's port towns. The first is Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas, departing from Seattle on 19JUL 2021. It will be followed by ships from Celebrity, Holland America Line, Princess, Carnival, Silversea and Norwegian Cruise Line, now possible as cruise ships can temporarily bypass Canadian ports. For many in Alaskan towns, things are returning to normal. “It’s a happy day for Alaska’s tourism industry and communities that rely on tourism in Alaska," said Alaska Travel Industry Association President and CEO Sarah Leonard.
