DeSantis Warns He'll Take CDC Fight to Supreme Court Over Cruise Restrictions

In the fight over pandemic restrictions placed on cruise ships by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pledged on 19JUL that he will take the issue up to the Supreme Court. "Can you just have one agency in the government, without Congress ever passing a law, just basically shutting down an industry?" he asked. A U.S. district judge granted Florida a preliminary injunction against the CDC earlier in JUL, but the CDC recently won an appeal against the state. On 17JUL, a three-judge appellate court panel delayed the injunction, a day before it was set to take place.
