Plans for Passenger Train Linking YYC and Banff Come Into Sharper Focus

Plans to establish a passenger rail service linking YYC and Banff National Park have came closer to realization. Invest Alberta, the provincial government's investment attraction Crown corporation, announced on 15JUL it had reached a detailed memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding the project alongside Alberta Transportation and the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), a federal Crown corporation. Should the project move forward among all parties, it would see the construction of a 150-kilometre passenger rail service that could include stops such as YYC, downtown Calgary, Banff, and more along the way, which could be a gamechanger for tourism in the region.
