Indoor Masks Now Mandatory Again in COVID ‘Hotspot” Las Vegas

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak imposed a mask mandate on counties with high rates of COVID-19, including Clark County, the home of Las Vegas. Starting again on 30JUL, all employees and guests at Las Vegas’ hotels, casinos, resorts, and more, will be required to wear a face mask indoors regardless of vaccination status. Sisolak previously dropped the mask mandate for the state in MAY. Unvaccinated people were still required to wear the mask, but this policy was rarely enforced along The Strip. The new mandate comes after the U.S.’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance, recommending that all people return to wearing masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status. According to Sisolak, the Delta variant is responsible for most of the new cases in Nevada.
