A new study from Longwoods International is tracking American travellers, and found that the Delta variant of COVID-19 is having a negative impact on traveller confidence. The survey revealed that a quarter of respondents are postponing travel due to the recent increase in coronavirus case numbers, hospitalizations and deaths. It also revealed that support among travellers for opening their communities to visitors has dropped from a peak of 67%, according to a Longwoods study in JUN, to 57% now. “We may be approaching a new pandemic tipping point, in the battle between the more transmissible Delta variant and the power of vaccinations to prevent or at least lessen the impact of infections,” said Amir Eylon, president and CEO of Longwoods International.
