Seabourn has provided an updated timeline for its upcoming ship - Seabourn Venture's - maiden voyage. The first expedition ship in the luxury line's fleet is now scheduled to depart on 10APR 2022 from Greenwich (London), England.

According to Seabourn, the change is the result of pandemic disruptions and related supply chain challenges during the manufacturing process in the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy.

Guests currently booked on Seabourn Venture voyages scheduled to depart between 11DEC 2021 and 24APR 2022 will receive more details by 10AUG 2021 about cancellations specific to their booking. In addition to the change of dates, Seabourn Venture added two new itineraries around the U.K., including its inaugural London sailing.

These two new voyages will go on sale on 19AUG 2021.

“We had the opportunity to visit Seabourn Venture at the T. Mariotti shipyard and were amazed at the design and beauty of the ship,” said Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn. “The ship will now launch in time for the inaugural summer season in the North Pole in 2022.”

Seabourn Venture's second yet-to-be-named sister expedition ship is also under construction at the same shipyard. Both ships will be constructed to PC6 Polar Class standards with ice-hulls, and feature technology and hardware for a diverse range of deployments.

Each ship will also feature two custom-built submarines, 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, and a 26-person expert expedition team.
