Norwegian CEO Slams Florida's 'Shameful' Vaccine Passport Ban

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings CEO Frank Del Rio criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over his divisive vaccine passport ban, calling its legal fight “shameful.” "It's beyond bizarre. It's shameful. This is a pandemic we are talking about, people are dying every day, Florida is now the epicenter of the epicenter. What does it take for common sense to rule?" Del Rio told Yahoo Finance. Del Rio continued, saying “Our leadership has failed us,” in response to the U.S.’s lack of a nationwide vaccine mandate. Norwegian Cruise Line has currently won a legal battle against Florida over vaccine passports, but the state has appealed the ruling. "There is a state here that relies on tourism, it's the number one industry, and the top priority of the hospitality business is to keep customers safe," Del Rio said.
