Singapore has announced that it will allow quarantine-free entry on 26AUG for Hong Kong and Macao residents, and entry for fully-vaccinated Germany and Brunei residents on 08SEP. Those coming in from Hong Kong and Macao must have stayed in those cities for at least three consecutive weeks before applying for entry, as well as to provide a negative COVID-19 test. Travellers coming in from Germany or Brunei must also have spent at least three consecutive weeks in those countries before applying for the Vaccinated Travel Pass to enter Singapore, then take multiple COVID-19 tests pre-departure, on arrival, and post-arrival to avoid quarantine. Travellers arriving from these destinations must also have insurance that covers COVID-19 medical treatment. While Canada is not eligible for quarantine-free travel with the Vaccinated Travel Pass just yet, the news is a good sign for the gradual reopening of Singapore’s borders.
