The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated its recommendations for taking a COVID-19 test for cruise ship travel to a shorter window of two days before boarding. It also notes that vaccinated passengers should get a PCR or rapid antigen test within two days of boarding or be tested on the day of embarkation when available. The new update also requires unvaccinated passengers to take a PCR test within three days of boarding a ship, as well as a PCR or antigen test on the day of embarkation. Lastly, the CDC says a PCR or antigen test is also required before disembarking.
