Gallup: Growing Majority of Americans Now Favor Vaccination Proof for Travel

According to a new poll by Gallup, the majority of Americans favour proof of vaccination for travel and hospitality activities, including air travel, hotel stays, dining in restaurants and attendance at large events. The poll, conducted between 16-22AUG found that sentiment has shifted since the company began conducting the survey in APR 2021. 61 per cent of Americans favoured a vaccine mandate for air travel, up by 4 per cent since APR. 58 per cent agreed that vaccine proof should be required for attending events with large crowds, but similar to the previous standing, most Americans have held this view since APR with a slight increase. Hotel stays and indoor dining saw the largest shifts in favour toward proof of vaccination. Only 40 per cent of Americans were in favour of vaccination proof for indoor dining in APR, and this has shifted to 53 per cent in AUG. Meanwhile for hotel visitors this number has shifted from 44 per cent to 53 per cent.
