Montreal's Wax Museum is Shutting Down, and Looking for New Homes for its Statues

Montreal's Grévin wax museum announced that it will be closing for good due to a drop in visitor numbers during the pandemic. Located on the fifth floor of the city’s Eaton Centre, the museum welcomed around 150,000 visitors per year pre-pandemic. Since reopening, Kathleen Payette, the museum's director, said it was drawing only a third of the normal amount of visitors. The wax museum is a smaller version of the famous Musée Grévin in Paris. There are reportedly over 100 wax figures in its collection, which now need a new home. Payette said the museum has reached out to some of the celebrities to ask if they want to claim their wax figure and take it home. Some will go to the Paris wax museum, while others will be donated to local Quebec museums. No word if bidding is open to the public!
