Hilton CEO: Business Travel Demand Will Eclipse 2019 Levels in 3 Years

Hilton CEO Christopher Nassetta is optimistic about the return of business travel, saying that demand in this sector would eclipse 2019 levels in a matter of three years. “My fundamental optimism, which I think is well-founded on data, is pretty much what it was [prior to the Delta variant outbreak],” Nassetta said. The data for Hilton says that business transient demand has already recovered to 75 per cent of its pre-pandemic performance. A strong part of the recovery was due to small and medium-sized companies, who made up of 80 per cent of Hilton’s business clients. “They don’t have the luxury of saying they’re not going to travel,” Nassetta said. “Big businesses are a small part of our business.”
