Sign of the (Restarting) Times: Marriott Restoring Hot Breakfast Buffet at Some Hotels

Marriott International is set to reintroduce hot breakfast buffets at some U.S. select-service brands in OCT, with more to come during the winter season. A “select number” of Fairfield, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites properties will resume offerings of hot breakfast bars, which includes items such as breakfast sandwiches, spinach-and-cheese crustless quiche and a jalapeno-cheddar baked soufflé. Throughout the winter, the company will reintroduce the breakfast offering to each of the nearly 3,000 properties of the four brands in the US. Marriott said it conducted a survey of around 800 travellers in the US and Canada and found that 75 per cent of respondents indicated a preference for a hot breakfast buffet over a continental breakfast.
