AC Changes Check-In to 90 Minutes Prior to Boarding for Many Int’l YYZ Flights

Air Canada has changed the timing for passenger check-in for many flights leaving YYZ, with immediate effect. The check-in and baggage drop-off deadline for passengers flying to the U.S. or international destinations has been increased to 90 minutes before scheduled departure, previously set at 60 minutes.

Passengers are recommended to arrive at YYZ two hours before a flight to the U.S. and three hours before a flight to any other international destination. Air Canada also advised that a new queue system has been introduced for flights to the U.S. departing before 12 p.m. to “optimize the flow” of security and customs.

For domestic flights out of YYZ, the timing for passenger check-in remains the same. Although pax are recommended to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before departure, check-in or bag drop off can be done 45 minutes prior to the scheduled domestic flight time.
