Marriott Expands in Dominican Republic With “10 Ongoing Projects”

Marriott International president Brian King says he is optimistic about the future of tourism in the Dominican Republic. The hotel company has 10 projects currently underway, “with which we expect to add more than 2,000 rooms on the island.” Marriott recently entered into a franchise agreement with Sunwing Travel Group’s hotel division, Blue Diamond Resort, which is expected to significantly expand our all-inclusive portfolio, King added. Marriott International currently operates six hotels with a total of 1,167 rooms in the Dominican Republic.
