Porter’s Michael Deluce On Jets and Why-YZ

Porter Airlines celebrates its 15th anniversary this Saturday, 23OCT, the day it launched its first flight from Toronto’s Island Airport in 2006. Open Jaw was there on Day 1 to capture the excitement of a new concept in flying, with flight attendants wearing pillbox hats and an intimate lounge offering cappuccinos and biscuits along with a small business centre. Word spread quickly.

Fast forward to today, and Porter’s President and CEO, Michael Deluce, speaks with Open Jaw’s Nina Slawek on the airline’s reasons for expanding to Pearson Airport and reading the tea leaves of the post-COVID landscape.
