Will Delta, B.C., be Home to a New Cruise Ship Terminal?

Delta, located in the Greater Vancouver Area, may be the home of a new cruise ship terminal within a few years. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority had been looking into the feasibility of building a new terminal in Delta, but plans were put on hold due to the pandemic. Now, as the cruise industry is reopening and cruise volume is expected to grow, there is growing interest in the construction of a new port. “We’re at the stage where we’re starting to have conversations again about longer-term capacity plans. We’re not at the level of detail where we’re picking a site but the good news is we’re starting those conversations again,” said Vancouver Port president and CEO Robin Silvester.
