A new study from Expedia Group and the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), titled the “Travel Recovery Trend Report,” found that searches for travel are growing globally, with 70 per cent quarter-over-quarter growth in Q2. In addition, search windows are lengthening, with travel inquiries of 22 to 90 days ahead of the intended travel date accounting for 35 per cent of all travel searches, up from 25 per cent in Q1. The study also found that domestic travel continues to be the preference for many, but growth for international destinations outpaced domestic destinations for many weeks in Q2. The data used in the study pulled statistics from Expedia Group’s air travel search data and ARC’s global airline sales data.
