Insight Vacations was awarded a gold award in the category of “Growing the Local Economic Benefit” at the World Travel Market’s World Responsible Tourism Award ceremony in London, England this week. The category of award highlights how tour operators can help create additional livelihoods for residents of local communities, especially through small businesses and micro entrepreneurial activity.

The premium guided tour company - part of The Travel Corporation (TTC) family of brands -  won the recognition for its ‘Make Travel Matter’ experiences. In a release, Insight says they aim to advance eleven of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to have positive impacts on the communities they visit, connecting “guests with people, the planet and wildlife, and promote the values of sustainable tourism.”

“We are absolutely honoured to receive this WTM World Responsible Tourism Award for our Make Travel Matter Experiences along with the continued support and guidance of our TreadRight Foundation,” said Ulla Hefel Böhler, CEO of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold.

“These sustainable experiences are now featured on every 2022-23 tour worldwide and we are further inspired to continue making a lasting impact with the local communities we visit,” she added.

According to Insight Vacations, there is now at least one Make Travel Matter experience on every Insight itinerary beginning in 2022, with 73 unique meaningful travel experiences across 124 itineraries in 17 countries in Europe, as well as Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Jordan, Israel, India, Nepal, and North and South America.

Advisors are invited to find out more about Make Travel Matter experiences on Insight Vacations on its web site: www.insightvacations.com

With a background in broadcast news and travel lifestyles TV production, Lynn is just as comfortable behind or in front of the camera as she is slinging words into compelling stories at her laptop. Having been called a multi-media ‘content charmer’, Lynn’s other claim to fame is the ability to work 24/7, forgoing sleep until the job is done. Documented proof exists in a picture of Lynn at the closing celebrations of an intense week, standing, champagne in hand - sound asleep. That’s our kind of gal.
