WTTC Unveils Tourism Roadmap to Battle Climate Crisis

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has launched a Net Zero Roadmap for the tourism industry in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Accenture. The document is intended to serve as a guide for the global tourism sector, with guidelines and recommendations to help guide tourism businesses on their journey towards net zero carbon emissions. The roadmap presents a target framework with decarbonisation corridors, which groups tourism businesses into three sets, depending on their carbon emission profiles and the difficulty of abating their greenhouse gas emissions.
