Crystal Cruises Owner Genting Hong Kong Warns Of US$1.5B Loss in 2020

Genting Hong Kong became the latest public cruise company likely to chalk up more than a billion dollars in losses during 2020. The group signaled its expectation of losing at least US$600 million in Q4 2020 and at least $1.5 billion in the full year. It also operated at a loss in 2019, of $159 million, and combatted rumours of going out of business. Crystal Cruises is scheduled to resume sailings from the Bahamas in JUL. With that, Genting will have 41 per cent of its fleet in operation, based on lower berths.
