Some tourism industry stakeholders in the Bahamas are concerned the introduction of mass cruise tourism will negatively impact their “high-end boutique” branding for the destination. Bahamas Tourism Minister Dionisio D’Aguilar noted that Crystal Cruise line passengers are generally between the ages of 55 and 65, with income levels in excess of US$100,000, but stated that if stakeholders on North Eleuthera and Exuma prefer that cruise lines not visit their island, tourism officials will look to other islands.
