Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is threatening to sue the U.S. government if the CDC doesn't allow cruises to restart by the summer. Last OCT, the CDC replaced its "No-Sail" order with a "Conditional Sailing Order," for a phased resumption of passenger cruise line travel, based on technical guidelines which the CDC has still not issued, effectively continuing the cruise ban. DeSantis criticizes the process as "totally unrealistic." Meanwhile, University of Florida epidemiologist Cindy Prins says it's "too early" for cruises to resume, given the higher risk of the virus spreading among passengers. She noted "testing and symptom screening are not perfect methods of prevention."
