Marriott Agrees to Include Resort Fees in Room Rates

Marriott International has agreed to include mandatory resort fees in its room rates after an investigation from the Pennsylvania attorney general's office was led to believe that the company was in violation of consumer-protection laws. The settlement was filed on 16NOV, and Marriott now has nine months to implement the agreed-upon changes, which will be effective nationwide. Shapiro argued the practice is “deceptive” and a violation of Pennsylvania's Consumer Protection Law.
