In an interview with CBC, infectious disease specialists Dr. Isaac Bogoch and Dr. Susy Hota discuss whether or not current vaccines will be able to help protect individuals against the new Omicron variant. Bogoch said “even if there does seem to be a chipping away at the effectiveness of vaccines, it will likely be a gradual chipping away, and the vaccines will still likely confer very significant protection especially against more severe infections.”
