Vaccine for Babies and Toddlers Could be Approved Early 2022: Tam

COVID-19 vaccines for babies and toddlers could be approved early in 2022, said chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam, depending on how clinical trials play out. "I can't tell you exactly when those results will be available," Tam said of the trials. "It depends on how many people they recruit and how fast the trials go. But I think all of that is well underway." Tam said she anticipates seeing results from Pfizer-BioNTech for children aged two to five first. With vaccines recently approved for children between the ages 5 to 11, Canadian parents may soon be able to travel with the entire family, including the youngest ones, with added protection.
