New COVID-19 Travel Measures Cause Confusion; and Freeland Will Give a Budget Update

With few details being shared regarding Canada’s new testing measures at the airports, reports show confusion among travellers and airport authorities alike. “One concern is just when this goes into effect … something even Air Canada and WestJet appear not to know,” Cameron Turner, a traveller from Victoria, B.C., said. “Another concern is just where travellers are expected to self isolate while waiting for their test results.” In addition, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland is expedited to release the fall economic and fiscal update on 14DEC, which comes as the federal government attempts to get the bill extending pandemic supports through Parliament before the Christmas break. Bill C-2 would provide more than $7 billion in additional pandemic benefits.
