According to Susan Postma, CAA Regional Manager of Customer Experience, consumers travel plans have been a “mixed bag” in 2021, with a surge in bookings followed by a recent “trickle” of cancellations. With travel circumstances evolving rapidly due to the emergence of the Omicron variant, Postma says it is difficult to tell if the number of cancellations will grow, but a number of cancellations are expected. In terms of domestic travel, Postma said bookings are currently “very high,” with Canadians seeking to explore the country. Travellers with domestic plans are booking for late 2022 and even into 2024, said Postma.
