Air Canada Vacations (ACV) and Palladium Hotel Group hosted a webinar on 05AUG, to showcase what guests can expect when they book and vacation at Palladium properties.
In Mexico, after nearly four months of closure, the Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa and the TRS Coral Hotel reopened on 01JUL, 2020, said Sebnem Richtmann, Palladium Business Development Manager, Ontario and Western Canada.
Not all properties in Mexico have reopened. In Riviera Maya, planned kickoffs for the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa, and TRA Yucatan Hotel are scheduled for 30OCT, 2020.
Palladium’s two properties in Jamaica -- Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa -- reopened on 10JUL, 2020.
A number of Palladium and TRS properties in other destinations remain closed, with reopening dates set for the fall.
In the Dominican Republic, Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Bávaro Suites Resorts & Spa, Grand Palladium Palace Resort, Spa & Casino, and TRS Turquesa Hotel are planning to restart on 09OCT, 2020.
The Cap Cana Hotel will reopen on 30OCT, 2020.

Palladium Hotels’ new health & safety protocols include updated procedures in all areas of the hotel. Guests will have their temperature taken in all entrance areas and restaurants, as well as in the gym and spa. Richtmann said all surfaces will be frequently disinfected, and rooms will have a 24- to 48-hour wait between check-out and check-in. Properties will also be operating at 35% capacity.
Restaurants encourage reservations to ensure social distancing can be maintained and a la carte service will be promoted, she added. New technology has also been implemented, such as the Ozone Mist Disinfection System and online check-in/check-out.
Along with its updated sanitation protocols, Palladium Hotels is offering free insurance coverage if a guest happens to contract COVID-19 during their stay. The Stay Safe Plus insurance includes expenses for any illness arising during the stay, medical transfer of patients, emergency transfer to hospital, extension of stay, repatriation in the event of death, and return of companions if one must go home for medical reasons.
Air Canada Vacations is currently flying from Toronto to Cancun, Montego Bay, and Punta Cana. ACV is also offering flights from Montréal to Cancun, and Punta Cana.
