Confusion reigns for many Canadians who considered travelling over the holidays due to shifting travel advice, different COVID-19 variants, and a variety of testing and quarantine rules, reports CTV News. The prospect of travelling is "incredibly confusing" as passengers remain uncertain about whether they will be tested at airports upon return or forced to quarantine, on top of other restrictions abroad, said Marty Firestone, president of insurance company Travel Secure. "We're just in a disarray, there's no other simple way to put it,” he said. With Canada’s vague information on airport testing, others are left with questions as well. "Complete confusion," said John McKenna, CEO of the Air Transport Association of Canada. "Even we have calls with the department of transport, and they don't have the answers." He said the federal government needs to communicate guidance more clearly as thousands of Canadians look into cancelling holiday trips.
