Montego Bay, Jamaica Sets Pandemic Tourism Record

Montego Bay in Jamaica has set a new record for tourism arrivals in a single day since the beginning of the pandemic. On 11DEC, 7,000 passengers arrived at MBJ, the most in a single day arriving at the destination since the reopening of the country’s borders in JUN 2020. That included a total of 52 flights from commercial, charter and private aircraft. Airlines that arrived that day included Air Canada, Air Transat, WestJet, Sunwing, and Swoop, among others. “Receiving such a large number of air passengers into our largest airport in just one day is a clear indication that demand for Jamaica’s tourism product remains strong,” said Jamaica Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett.
