Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Line have all implemented stricter mask policies due to Omicron concerns. In a letter to travel advisors, Royal Caribbean said “we feel it prudent to temporarily tighten our onboard health protocols to require masks indoors at all times, unless actively eating or drinking.” The cruise line added the rule will apply to all indoor spaces, including those that have been designated for vaccinated passengers only, and will take effect immediately through at least 05JAN 2022. Norwegian put in place a nearly identical policy which was in effect through at least 19DEC. CruiseRadio did not provide further updates on NCL’s masking policy. Carnival Cruise Line also added similar policies, which took effect immediately fleet-wide for all sailings through 31JAN 2022.
