Meliá Hotels International has announced "The Meliá Collection," a set of exclusive luxury properties within its portfolio. The properties chosen are those with a "very distinctive personality" due to their iconic location or the traditions and history they represent.
The Maison Colbert Hotel and Villa Marquis, both in Paris, the Serengeti Lodge Hotel in Tanzania, the London Kensington Hotel in London, the Desert Palm Hotel in Dubai, and the Hacienda del Conde in Tenerife, are now a “Member of Meliá Collection." According to Meliá, this means these properties allow guests a unique travel and destination experience supported by the offerings, services and guarantees of the group.
Meliá also highlights that the collection is centered on the surroundings of each property within the collection, seen within the design, architecture, style and decoration of the hotels, as well as in their exclusive selection of amenities.
Highlights of each property within The Meliá Collection can be found below.
Hotel Hacienda Del Conde
This Canary Islands hacienda is located in northeastern Tenerife between Buenavista and Punta de Teno and next to a golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros with views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Hotel Desert Palm

Located on a 160-acre polo estate in Dubai, guests can enjoy wellness in addition to sport experiences. From the entrance through the gates to the estate and polo field, inspiration from the “sport of kings" is present through the owner's personal art collection on display throughout the resort. Other amenities include exclusive villas with private pools, the indoor spa, and dining options.
Hotel Serengeti Lodge

This hotel, built using natural materials from the Serengeti area itself, offers a wildlife experience including taking travellers along hidden paths to see lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, and giraffes live in their natural habitat. The property is inspired by the natural environment with traditional Masai designs and colours.
Hotel Villa Marquis

Since opening in 1823, the Hotel Villa Marquis in Paris has been home to major artists such as Victor Hugo. Historically, the hotel is linked to the Hurault de Vibraye dynasty, which played a role in the cultural world of Paris. The recent renovation of the hotel was inspired by the design of the nearby Eiffel Tower.
Hotel Maison Colbert
Redesigned as a modern tribute to the life of the renowned Spanish artist Joaquín Sorolla and his connection with Paris, the hotel displays the artist's depictions of the Parisian lifestyle and art. The decoration highlights the way the artist was able to capture the Parisian culture and lifestyle, with its historically-inspired cafés.
Hotel London Kensington

This property is inspired by the historic and unique wallpaper designs by William Morris in the 18th, 19th and early-20th centuries, who was further inspired by English garden flowers. Damask designs, Spitalfields silks and Marlborough patterns combine to create the design throughout the London Kensington hotel.
