Globus family of brands has revealed that travel industry veteran Stéphanie Bishop, has announced her retirement. After 15 years as the managing director of the Globus family of brands’ Toronto office, Bishop is set to depart the company in MAY.

The company says Bishop has hand-selected a new leadership team to oversee Canada’s sales, marketing and finances for Globus, Cosmos and Avalon Waterways.

“It’s been exciting to witness the growth of our touring and river cruise brands across Canada under Stéphanie’s management,” said Scott Nisbet, chief executive officer for the Globus family of brands. “As we help her celebrate her pending retirement, we’re recognizing the work she’s done to advance the company, building a platform of education, awareness, trust and partnership across trade and consumer channels. We’re also grateful for the incredible travel experts Stéphanie has hired across Canada: A leadership team that’s poised to move the company forward in a country and travel market that’s incredibly important to the Globus family of brands, globally.”

The Canadian leadership team includes Carla Brake (sales), Ainsley Ericksen (marketing) and Swagat Pandya (finance). In addition, the Globus family of brands’ Canadian sales and marketing teams recently added eight (8) new hires to support travel advisor partners.

“I could not have chosen a better final chapter to my career,” said Bishop. “Building trade partnerships and friendships across the country, while inspiring Canadians to experience the world on award-winning river cruises and tours, has provided me immeasurable joy.

And, as Globus embarks on its 95th birthday, I’m proud to leave behind a new, enhanced Canadian leadership team to celebrate and take advantage of the company’s most robust travel portfolio in its vast history.”

Bishop joined the Globus family of brands as managing director of the company’s Toronto office in 2008. She will retire in May after having spent more than four decades in the travel industry in a variety of marketing, sales and leaderships positions.
