Arajet signed a cooperation agreement with the General Directorate of Cinema (DGCINE) to support the Dominican 7th art industry.
Thanks to this agreement, both entities will develop joint actions aimed at supporting the international positioning of the Dominican Republic's film industry in global markets. This will allow our producers, actors, and actresses to achieve greater visibility and participate in foreign festivals and events such as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Toronto International Film Festival is one of the world's largest and most important film festivals. It is held annually in Toronto, and about 400 films are presented in different categories.
This year, it will be held from September 5 to 15, with the participation of film authorities, both producers and sellers exhibiting and promoting their films and talents of the region to maximize visibility in the North American market, a unique opportunity for the projection of Dominican cinema.
They also intend to establish strategic alliances with entities and professionals in the film industry worldwide, with Arajet providing air transportation to its extensive network of 23 destinations in 16 countries of the continent.
The Dominican airline will support the Dominican Commission in participating in this great event; Arajet has been developing this type of agreement in compliance with its extensive social responsibility program to benefit local talent.
The document was signed by Marianna Vargas Gurilieva, general director of the DGCINE and the executive president and founder of the airline, Víctor Pacheco Méndez, in a ceremony held in the Tres Ojos Hall of Arajet's Headquarters. In her remarks, Marianna Vargas expressed the value of initiatives such as these, which aim to continue strengthening the presence of Dominican cinema outside our borders.
“Increasingly, the Dominican Republic is standing out in important cinematographic spaces around the world and, in this case, having once again the valuable and strategic support of Arajet means a lot to the national film industry,” said Gurilieva.
Victor Pacheco expressed that any grain of sand that Arajet can contribute to the promotion of the film industry fills them with pride as an airline of Dominican origin. “Arajet wants the world to know that the Dominican Republic is more than just sun and beaches; it is an island rich in culture and talent,” he said.
With this third agreement in one month, Arajet continues pointing out its social commitment to positively impact the development of the Dominican Republic, which is its hub. At the event, Arajet's CEO was accompanied by Manuel Luna, Chief of Communications and External Affairs, and Otto González, Chief of Staff. Meanwhile, Vargas was accompanied by Lía Báez, International Affairs Manager.
