Airline Allows You to Select Seat Farthest Away From Kids

They made the horror movie ‘Snakes on a Plane’ but everyone knows the real-life horror is ‘Kids on a Plane.’

Not even saints - or kids’ own mothers - love children in flight.

Certainly most other passengers don’t. And especially those who have work to complete or need to catch some shut-eye because they have to jump right into work the moment they arrive.

Sure, he looks angelic now...

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe you love sitting next to a child with sticky fingers all over your arm rest or in front of a little darling whose tiny feet are kicking you right in the small of your back - for HOURS.

In that case, call me a curmudgeon and stop reading now.

For the rest of us, read on - and take note.

One airline in Japan that knows passengers well has come to the rescue. As we get back to travel and think about how to remove some of its worst pain points, I think this unique booking system will be tremendously popular and should be implemented immediately for all airlines, everywhere.

Japan Airline’s booking system lets you know where booked children are seated on the flight.

The Japan Air website states: "Passengers travelling with children between eight days and two years old who select their seats on the Japan Airlines website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen.

"This lets other passengers know a child may be sitting there."

I think this one relieved passenger speaks for us all:

There’s a catch, though. JAL advises that seats booked through a third party won’t have the child icon show up.

So there’s still a chance of getting seated next to a screamer.

Would you use this one-of-a-kind seat selection booking tool? Be honest. But you don't have to tell your kids.
