Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Do Not Fear The 'L' Word

LOSERS!! There. I’ve said it, Pumpkins. I may be ex-barred from every hockey arena in Canada (like I go places that don’t have private salons!), but what needs to be said needs to be dealt with. We Canadians are, as a nation, not bullish. And when in Buffalo….

You may well be thinking, no shit Sherlock. And that is exactly the attitude we need in the battle that really matters to us: The GDS vs The Airline. Right now it’s a battle of wills, with a few silly skirmishes taunting each party into a show of submission. Not unlike when you load up the Holts charges until your husband drops the cocktail waitress. You gamble it won’t be you. And, no matter how well you play the game, or how much fat you can inject in your lips, you can’t fix a fragile foundation.

If the GDS doesn’t know it, allow me to state the obvious --not only do these relics need a lift, they need serious surgery. And even then. The airlines are tired of them – they’ve found new playthings and are not about to bow down to their threats. There is a fundamental change afoot, Pumpkins.

Rather than freak out that we will end up Losers (I can hear the handwringing as I type), we need to engage in discussions with both the airlines and the GDS - asap. Otherwise, we’ll end up exiled, annihilated - on a bus to Buffalo. (Ok, it was a limo. And my lawyer negotiated the terms of my return – but by then the locks were all changed.) You see my point?
