Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Time To Face Facts

The thing of it is, dahrlings, there is no money in ITC. I know -- I’ll probably be ex-inclusived for such heresy. The foundations of our business are built on the holy sun charter – careers cultivated -- companies grown – millionaires made and destroyed.

But those charters stopped being “idyllic island getaway” providers back in the nineties – no matter how many times we repaint them. Time to hold up the mirror people. [Aagh! After 4 facelifts I still look like I’ve been ridden too many times.] With margins thinner than communist toilet paper, I don’t know what we’re all waiting for. The money isn’t just going to fly in through the window. Look, matey, I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now. He’s expired. Deceased. Pushing up the daisies.

Obviously, we still need to send Canadians away. But call it what it is: a bus. And get on with making money on FIT and cruise and adventure and exotics and custom itineraries and anything that pays more than 8%. Suppliers know how to take a direct booking and they’ll be more than glad for the extra revenue. And if they slip a discount coupon into the seat pocket now and again, to seduce consumers, let ‘em. Spend your energies somewhere else.
