Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Are We Loving Our Jobs To Death?

I remember Uncle Gustav coming home for dinner at 5:45pm sharp. He was one of dozens of men spilling out of the 105 bus at the exact same time.

Today, suppliers in travel don’t even know which city they’re in, never mind what time they’ll be home for dinner. Hey! Where did we leave the kids?

And as for their “trade partners” (I’ve been told to stop referring to travel agents as travel agents) 5:45pm is just the beginning of the day.

How does anyone find time to pee? Between IT training, seminars, webinars, manuals, product overviews, sales presentations and launches, you guys are so overloaded my nervous system can’t take it. You’re killin’ me.

If one more technological innovation comes along to ‘make our lives easier’, take my advice, dahrlings, burn it. I have yet to see a Blackberry contribute to anyone’s quality of life.

Oh, and where’s the part when you go out and make money?
