Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

Call Back Optional

I recently connected “outside” business types with a travel firm looking for marketing services. After numerous meetings and demanding busy-nesses such as RFP’s, the trail went cold. No returning phone calls or e-mails. Not even so much as a ‘get lost you creep and stop hounding us’ (which has frankly never deterred me from chasing a suit.) In this case there was just silence.

The puzzled outsiders turned to me for advice. Natch. "Welcome to travel, dahrlings", I said! They said they’ll stick to truckers and dairy farmers.

It’s my humble opinion that travel harbours some of the most distracted people in business. (Others might call it “unprofessional”, but I’m kind.) Whether it’s because we spend more time in planes than on the ground and suffer from jet brain, or, because we’ve normalized wasting people’s time – my nanna would say “they need the rough end of  a pineapple shoved up their arses”.

Having gotten that off my saline implants, I must wail about the fact that vodka is out. Not in. Dare I say it? Un-trendy! Bar “chefs” (like that’s trendy) are saying the only reason to have a vodka martini is to get drunk. Um … ya. What did they think it was for? Anyhoo, I’ll show them who’s trendy. I’m into the next big thing that doesn’t even require a drink: vapour shots.
