Excuse me, dahrlings, but...

There's This Guy…

So there’s this guy, Guy Marchand, who recently quit Transat sales in Quebec and is now with Sunwing sales in Quebec. Meantime, there’s this gal, Sylvie Murdock, who worked for Sunwing sales in Quebec and now works for Transat sales in Quebec. Is this some kind of tit-for-tat sales manager poaching or did someone do their colours: “Guy, you travel muffin, you just scream fall! Ditch the blue and go orange.”

You’ve heard of ‘un-friending’ – well, there’s a new fad called ‘un-awarding’. It goes like this: a PR flack for the CTO calls our very own Brucey to proudly announce his Tears for Jamaica article has won their esteemed Media Award. Well, needless to say a small celebration ensued in the OJ basement. The dueling ding-dongs down here even splurged on real champagne.

So then, the very next day, the same Public Relations specialist calls Bruce again: “Gosh, there’s been a counting booboo and you aren’t the winner. My bad.”

I’d love to see this technique played on a larger scale – “Oopsy! I’m so sorry – go to commercial. Let go of that Oscar!”

I might have to crash today’s CTO award luncheon and snatch the plaque from the ‘real’ winner. As my great-aunt Wanda used to say, “Don’t mess with a Gabbalot.”
